started the truck fine. I drove it about two miles and noticed it was running rough so I pulled over while pulling into the parking spot it died. I started right back up then got a check engine light I'm afraid to drive it 6 miles to auto zone to have the codes read.

 

Well, you need to read the codes one way or another whether you drive it to the store or buy your own code reader. How many miles on the truck, how many miles on the spark plugs, and how many miles on the coils?
