rough idle / stalling

2004 F150 w/ 5.4 Triton motor. I replaced timing chain, tensioner and guides. Blew air threw the chamber in reverse to make sure no debris was in the cavities and replaced passenger side oils solenoid. Truck ran fine for 1 day. Started in morning, ran fine in higher cold idle mode, then as it warmed up, started dropping RPM down to 500 or less, then bounce up, then down on verge of stalling. Limped the truck to local Ford dealer and it died in the parking lot. They drained the oil and flushed the system. Stared just fine until it warmed up, starts dropping RPM. They say it is throwing code for driver side. I suggested changing the driver side oil solenoid like we did passenger side last week. Truck runs fine once it get going over 2,000 rpm, but not at slower/idle. Will the oil solenoid cause this?

Yes - along with several other things.

It is more helpful to post actual 'codes' rather than someone's diagnosis derived from the code(s). A huge portion of the time, they are wrong anyway.

More information would be helpful too. For instance, when timing stuff was replaced - did it include 'Phasers' too? OEM parts or not? Did you remove oil pan and clean broken guide parts out. Were bothVCT solenoids replaced - or just one?? Miles on engine?

These points will help get something better than a quick 'shot in the dark' by some post fiend.

Good luck
