Idle Air Control Valve question...

pre 97, with my '92 extended cab 5.0 2wd. me and a buddie of mine 14 yr marine veteran helicopter mechanic is gonna help me replace the part above and we're gonna do the EGR Valve Positioning Sensor.

Just wondering if there is anything I need to be careful of when installing these two parts. Advice etc...Would I need to take it to a shop to double check the timing after installing? Thanks very much. Happy Fall SEason

Just disconnect the negative battery cable while doing the work. That will force the PCM to re-learn idle control when you start it back up.

Neither will affect base engine timing.
