5.4 sticky lifter. Is Rev-X the cure?

5.4 sticky lifter. Is Rev-X the cure?

Anyone heard of this stuff? I would like to try an additive before I spend the money at the mechanic.

What year are you talking about? If it is a 3V engine, it may be something other than a sticky lifter.

2006 3v. It's already been confirmed at my mechanics shop. Rev X makes oil and gas additives, so am hoping someone here has some experience with it.

OHC engines don't have lifters, they have cam followers. I'd be wary of putting any additive in the oil.

Rev X is nothing more than a boatload of potassium and boron. Wanna kill the emission system? Here's the stuff to do it with. This crap has NO business in any engine including a beater. Just like a little water is good for you. But a lake full will kill you. Same goes for the elements in Rev X. A little potassium or a little boron is a good thing. In the quantities of Rev X, it's a serious killer.
FWIW, the last time I looked and it's been a couple of years, Rev X was made and bottled behind a gas station.
