Timesert 5553 kit vs 5554

I just had to order a 5554 kit for my Stupid Ford. It decided it didnt like its spark plugs at 44000 miles.

So I dont need anyone telling me that this is a maintenance issue cause its NOT!!! It a HUGE DESIGN FLAW...

Just wondering has anyone else used the 5554 kit before and has anyone used it on a van

How much swearing am I going to be doing?

There is a design flaw. I will give you that. BUT, my ford spits the #1 plug every 60k miles. I put a new set in, and it doesn't spit another till 60k. Now, I see it as the truck telling me it is time for a new set.

So, how old is your truck? And are your slacking on maint?

(sorry, had to do it!)

Never used timeserts...

I just put new plugs in when it spits and it goes another 60k.

I do have a bore scope, and, was worried about the spitting troubles. Checked the threads and all was ok.

I see it as my motor is telling me it is time for new plugs, and that has worked for the last 3 plug changes...

So, there you go!

Also, may I add, that when you are asking for help on this site, it is a general rule, that you add, make, model, engine size and year of the application one would be working on. It means a world of difference in a diagnosis. But, you need not be told anything huh? Just a tid bit for you to sulk about...

Unfortunately I needed it like yesterday. Well I Know that I need the kit since my plugs do not thread in there anymore. They just spin freely.

So What can you tell me about the kit is it a pain to do on a Van?
