01 F150 Fix has cost $1200 and still same results

Hi My wife purchased an 01 F150 5.4 a little over a month ago. The first problem we had was she blew a plug out and it needed to be rethreaded. I had a mechanic do that and replace the coils and a new catalytic converter.

We got the truck back and two coils melted along with all of the dash lights going haywire. She drove it home during the drive the battery started to die. So we took it back in replaced the coils, they changed the computer that's in the engine compartment and reprogrammed it, new alternator and battery. After that we got the truck back and it still ran rough. The mechanic said it could act that way till she hit 200 miles.

Well today she hit 200 miles and the truck still was running rough, the speedometer stopped working right at 200 and the engine temp gauge went to C. also the oil light is on.

I fix computers for a living and no very little about cars if someone can point me in the right direction on what they need to be considering about this truck.

Thank you

If you want it fixed right, take it to a Ford dealer.

The mechanic said it could act that way till she hit 200 miles.
BS.

Yea, it should have been running right before you left the mechanic. Sounds like some shoddy work
