5.4 triton spark plug thread question
New member here. Hello to all.
I'm replacing the plugs on a 2004 5.4 triton with 99,000.
2 broke and were extracted pretty easy with the lisle tool.
On 1 the pusher broke the end strap off and I'm hoping to get that out with a shop vac.
The passenger rear broke with the electrode still in the plug well.
I used a bore scope and saw the broken electrode piece lying in there against the threads.
I fished it out with pliers and and when I went to insert the pusher tool it just spins on the threads. No grab at all. I didn't try to force it.
Can I use a thread chaser on the threads? The bottom piece of the plug is still in there so I need to use the pusher, extractor, and install the new plug.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
