Try a 1/2 quart first. FULL is about 1/4-3/8 down from the top hash. The top hash is overfull. If you over fill it without exceeding the top hash limit, you'll be fine. It's just not a good idea to run it overfilled all the time, specially if you exceed the top hash.

Best way to figure out your full mark is to change the oil and filter. Dump 6 quarts in, start her up, circulate it real good, shut it down, wait 5 or 10 then see exactly where your oil reads on the stick.

Allot of guys scribe there own hash mark after figuring out where full really is.

My 02 5.4 is full when it shows a half qt low. I put 6 1/2 qts in it after changing a couple of times so it would indicate full and it must splash on the cylinders from the crankshaft whipping it because a half qt would disappear quickly. So, I just add 6 qts now and I don't have to add any between 5,000 mile changes.

Yea, don't go overboard too often lol, -it's almost as bad as not having enough. To much oil can froth, periodically causing the bearing to go dry . It's hard on them, -if your constantly gagging the CC.

Just 6 quarts, that's it! For the 2V anyway.
