Valvoline NexGen 5w-20 failed testing

If you are a Valvoline fan, you need to be aware that the latest testing from PQIA has NexGen ONLY 5w-20 oils failing in NOACK. If you have it already just know the engine may start to use oil, no damage should occur but you need to watch the dipstick as it will start falling and top off needed. NOACK is the measurement of the oils evaporation rate due to high engine heat. API max level is at 15% of mass and NexGen exceeded that in testing. Most oils will be at or below 10%. From PQIA:
On January 8, 2014, PQIA issued an Advisory on a sample of Valvoline NextGen Conventional 5W-20 motor oil. The reason for the Advisory is that the sample tested failed the Noack Volatility requirements for an API SN/ILSAC GF-5.
Valvoline answered the test by saying the test is not valid. The industry does not concur as the ASTM D5800 Procedure B is a standard of the industry. The test is run at 250C for one hour. The NOACK for this oil came in at 18.4% and retested at 18.3%.
