What are talking about, it's a 97. That's not new, - far from it. Yea, I'm not sure what planet your on, on this one, Ford is generally the better option for the majority. Sure , they've had some problems, - definitely not perfect, but your way off.

BTW, your charging lights on probably because you went cheap on the alternator. Also, on this planet we caps, spacing and proper punctuation. Well, we try anyway. That shows you have some respect for others. It makes a difference.

"Ford V-8's are garbage" because an alternator is going bad??
Your joking right?

Ive seen "reman" alternators bad out of the box.

Your post makes no sense at all.

The Modular engine is one of the most reliable engine out there. You do realize that truck is 16 years old? Its going to need attention now and then but a modular V8 will usually last 300,000 miles easy. The 4.6 was on Wards best engine list of and on for over a decade. Check your connections..

Wow

A new member who comes on here to bash Ford engines. Did'nt see that comming.

Why did you buy a 1997 Ford Truck if you knew they were junk?

If you like other engines, I can respect that, but for your information, My 1998 engine just turned 200,000 miles. Most durable engine I ever owned.

Funny... My 98 4.6 with 386 000 kms is great, knock on wood. All I've done to it is regular maintenance. I just replaced my alternator in Feb, the original from the looks lol.

I will say this, I truly hate the location design of the spark plugs, but it being so reliable kind of makes up for it.

I wouldn't trade my truck for anything, and when the wheels fall off I'm gonna rebuild it.

No matter what you drive you will have repairs, yes, some have more repairs then others. Its all how you take care of it.

My parents have a Chevy Avalanche and I cant wait to buy it off them when they no longer want it. Its an 03 5.3 with 160 000km on it they had since new. Much easier to do a tune up on that engine, but I despise the electronics lol... its always something.

(yes, I'd keep my Ford too- they look good parked side by side lol. Hopefully I'll have my fox body 5.0 or new edge style mustang by then too lmao... I need to make more money)

You, sir, are full of p00p.

i am reaching out to you to help me out here.
Exactly what do you expect us to be able to do? We can't reach through the Internet and fix your truck for you. Get your 16 year old rusty electrical system fixed and the engine will run for another 16 years.

Ya we have garbage trucks from Canada driving into Michigan everyday to dump their trash over here. I guess the OP fell off one of those trucks.
