Engine Swaps
K guys i have a 2001 HD F-150 Supercrew, i have 177000+ miles on it i most likely will be placing a slightly used 2002 Lighting Engine in it, and i want a new transmission i wouldnt know which one to put in it, but i was looking for somthing with forged internals hopefully, but as well i mainly would like to know if anyone has swapped the raptors engine in a truck of this generation or any of the more powerful mustangs engine like the 5.0 or shelby engines thanks guys id like to know

The Lightning used a 4R100, and you will need the PCM and wiring harness out of the donor truck.

so the best would be that transmission and the lighting engine im sure thats loads cheaper than a raptor engien, what about a 4 valve 5.4 liter or the 2004 cobra engine i dont really tow anything at most 3000lbs

Just use your original trans. Drop it off at the trans shop and tell them you need it to handle about 500 hp. That should do it.

The '01 Harley trucks also used the 4r100 transmission although they were not supercharged |

Feel free to do a search, the trinity and coyote motors are feasable swaps but since you don't know the Lightning motors have forged pistons then you probably are far from being up to the task of swapping one of these into your current truck... |
