Hey guys, once in a wile when I first start my truck I am getting a low oil pressure message in the message center. The message stays on the screen for about a second then shuts off and does not come back on.

This has happened about 3 times or so since I bought the truck. Which has been over a month ago. Is this cause for concern or is this pretty normal?

 

What oil filter are you using? A filter with a poor anti drain back valve could lead to no oil pressure starts.

 

It's normal for there to be no oil pressure when the engine isn't running. It takes a few moments for the oil pressure to build and for the pressure switch to close. If the system polled the switch during that brief interval, it may show that message. if the message persists beyond a few seconds, then be concerned.

 

It's a motor craft oil filter. I have the oil changed done at a ford dealership.

 

I've always had the message also, I determined that when the truck just cranks up it's got to take a second for oil to get where it needs to. Like how project explained.
