I've got an 06 F150 King Ranch. Am I looking at all the same issues and fun changing the spark plugs that I had in my old 04 Lariat?

Having done this quite a few times, The best chance for success is to run the socket like a tap. 1/16 of a turn out-1/32 of a turn in, 1/16 of a turn out- 1/32 of a turn in. Go slow and work the plug by feel. Once you get the plug 1/4 of a turn our, run it back down in and start again. A few different length wobble drive extensions and a long breaker bar works the best to get the plug started out. My 8 for 8 success rate with this method is very good. Dynotech is 110% correct you NEED the Lisle 65600 as plan "B".

 

It may not be quite as bad as the 04 - I believe that they did not use antiseize on the barrel in 04, but the 06 has it.

 

I have yet to do this chore, but I will do it myself soon. There is a great youtube video showing how to use the Lisle tool, and I'm all about saving money. The dealership close to me charges an extra $100 for each broken plug, and they assured me there would be a couple broken plugs. That plus plugs costing twice as much as the Motorcraft plugs from O'Reilly. That's $120 for plugs alone from the dealer. I can buy the Motorcraft plugs and the Lisle tool for $127 and do the work myself. It's a no brainer.

 

The whole key is to GO SLOW. 1/8 turn to barely unseat the plug, carb cleaner to the bottom of the hex of the spark plug...you'll see air bubbles as it goes down the threads. After 15 minutes, I went back to the plug I started with and retightened back and the 1/8 turn loose again. Repeat. And then a 1/4 turn out then tight. repeat. You get the idea. Before the plug comes all the way out, take an air hose with a rag and blow out the excess carb cleaner. I had all eight come out, not one broke. And yes, they do screech a little when coming out.
