Exclamation What is this???????? is it a PROBLEM???

Can someone please tell me what the orange wire is in this photo. I noticed it this morning when getting into the truck. I dont notice my truck running any differently but i have never seen it before. Is it going to damage my truck if its not plugged in? Thanks

Well if you want to use you block heater then yes it is. I would be questioning what pulled it off the engine though, and personally I would take a look at the freeze plug that it attaches to and make sure its not damaged for peace of mind. Also I would plug that sucker back in, one it will keep it from possibly getting mixed up with other engine/motor accessories and second the terminals won't corrode if you decide you want it at a later date. Should only take about 30 seconds to fix and shouldn't even require any tools. Just plug it in.
