Prestone All in one coolant OK?
I finnally got around to installing my Saleen radiator on my 06 F150 4.6L.
I didn't drain the engine block, just the radiator and expansion tank, and changed the lower hose and a lot came out of there.
I mixed 50/50 with Prestones all in one coolant and distilled water because thats all i could find locally. Put in just about 3 gallons.
Should I be OK using this stuff? Or should I order the OEM Fluid, and do a complete flush and fill including the engine block.

What color was the fluid in the radiator that you drained out? What is the color of the fluid you put in. If they are both green (conventional) I would say your fine. Another thing to consider what is the shape of the fluid you drained out? Chunky brown fluid is a sign you should just get it flushed. I'm from WI so checking coolant is a must. You can go to an auto parts store and get a hydrometer or even better a refractometer it will tell you what your coolant is good for temperature wise. A 50 50 blend will get you around -30 to -40 range which is really probably where you want to be.

I am the tech manager at Prestone. If I read your post correctly, you have an issue. The 50/50 coolant is fine for your car-However it is already premixed and should not be mixed with water. To mix it yourself you need to buy the full strength coolant. You should drain the raidator and engine block, mix Prestone extended life coolant in a 50/50 mixture with distilled or dionized water. If you do it this way, you now have a extended life OAT coolant and will not need cooling system service for another 5 years and 100k miles.

coolant colors
Mean nothing! It is dye. Green coolant does not always mean it is silicated conventional coolant. Orange doesnt always mean it is OAT coolant. That is one of the reasons Prestone developed the "all makes, all models" coolant technology. So you can put it in any vehicle and not worry.
