First thing I do with a crank no start situation. Put a charger on the battery, if there isn't a good enough charge engine will not turn fast enough to turn over. Check for spark, undo a wire get a plug tester or make your own and check spark on every cylinder. Next check fuel pressure via the schrader valve im sure there is a spec round here some where for the 5.0. Last thing is compression hopefully this is not the issue. Is it cold when you tried to start the truck, my guess is a battery issue especially if it is under 20 degrees. Good luck hope it is a simple fix for ya.

yup about - 15 or so celcius, theres lots of battery power, ill check spark first see whats going on with that, its just weird it started in the morning to bring it inside to work on then in the aft it had triouble starting we goot it going just mashing the pedal down, and when you let of it would die, after a couple time it stayed running but now we cant get it started

Is there fuel in it? May sound like a dumb question but I spent two hours working on a 86 chevy big block couldn't get it running for the life of me. Come to find out the fuel gauge was busted and there was no fuel but showed 3/4 of a tank. It could be the simplest of things. It could also be the fuel pump or even a fuel filter. Check everything even fuses, and fuel injector voltage.

If you have a small low voltage test light you can check for voltage at the injectors. Find the schrader valve and press it with a rag and small screw driver it should hiss and spray fuel everywhere thus the need for the rag. Do you hear a noise when you first turn the truck to on the fuel pump arming?

What work did you do to it???
Not if you have an ignition fault. Study these & their captions:
. . .
I highly recommend getting a Haynes manual and following the ignition system diagnostic procedure in Ch.5 (usually Sec.5 or 7). Read this caption:
BTW
Don't double-post.

96 Ford F150, 4.6 liter, 6 cyc, auto. Truck has been running fine, parked it
for a couple of days in garage & now it won't crank! Endine spins over, fuel
pump running, can smell gas from exhaust, got to be something electrical.
Which relays &/or mododules should I check? Have rather outdates code reader,
goes with my 90 model f-150, 6 cyc, auto.
PLEASE HELP STRANDED!

my 390 did that, except it'd run for me..BARELY. changed the fuel filter and cleaned out the entire carb and it ran like new again.
