Throttle Body Question
I have a 2006 F150 4x4 with the 5.4L and 70000 miles. I am wanting to clean my throttle body because my truck has been shutting off and jerking while I am driving it. I was wondering with the removal of the throttle body and sensors unplug but NOT removed from throttle body; do I have to have to have the computer reprogrammed once it is all reinstalled?????

you dont have to have the pcm reprogrammed because you removed the throttle body but there may be an updated calibration for an idle concern. the only way to know what calibration you have and if there are any updated calibrations available is to get it to the dealer and have the pcm checked for updates, or find a local garage that has current vcm software. our dealer would probably charge a half hour to check and another half to update. you could also get the vin run on oasis and see if there are any messages about updates. there is s tsb about poor idle after battery disconnected and its an update that fixes it. hope this helps.
