OK to crank?
I know this is probobly a stupid question but just wanna ask to make sure im not missing something with my crazy mind right now....Anyways, i have my motor taken apart to change my intake man. (removed tb,vac lines, coils, alternator, belt etc.....) and noticed oil on one of my plugs so what i want to do now is take a comp test on that cylinder and need to know if its ok to crank the motor over to test it with all this stuff removed? Or am i missing something preventing that? Again, probobly a stupid Q i know....

Hard to say since you didn't list exactly what's off & what's still on. And is this a 4.6L or 5.4L in your '01?

Then yes: as long as you haven't dropped anything into the intake runners or disconnected the timing chains, it's OK to do a compression test. It won't be accurate because the engine isn't warmed up, but follow the instructions in this caption as best you can:
