5.4 leaking intake

hi guys have 00 expy 5.4 146k miles has coolant leak out of pass rear of intake had new gaskets put on about 10k miles ago repair shop says could be cracked intake it is plastic just trying to find a performance intake but can't seem to find anything any help is appreciated thanks

there's a coolant port in the valley that is known to leak. fairly easy fix, the entire intake has to come off to get to it though.

coolant should not be coming out of the intake itself.

Dont know if you know but, both sides have coolant ports front and rear...https://www.f150online.com/forums/v8...-question.html Ive also heard leaking could be from a cracked intake also.....Good luck though

Yea that's a good thread munoxide. I dug that one up as well when searching.

00expy5.4 - Use the search this forum only option next to forum tools. I've posted allot of info on this , as well as others. Sometimes it's the coolant tube O-rings that go bad. Any and all coolant on top of the block cavity leaches out the passenger side of the motor, - on top of the starter. Search "coolant leak". - Lots of pictures posted on this.

since this is the second time the intake is coming off i would like to put a performance one on would a lightning or h.d. one work or is there something else available

There really isnt much in the way of performance intakes.. Seems like someone made one awhile back. I'd just get a good used one. I have one I'd sell ya. off an 03 low milles engine and all. $75 plus shipping.
