98 Triton V8 4.6 engine lift points

im pulling out my engine to get it rebuilt and was wondering if there are prefered lift points on the block to attach the jack onto? i was thinking of using the back 2 trany bolt threds but not sure if that would damage the threding and screw me for when i put the block back in. anyone have any ideas?

I used those. Make sure you use steel. Dont use aluminum bolt holes in the heads and youll be fine.

Thats what I used, then the alternator mount. worked like a charm.

Obviously have to remove the bell housing bolt first. Then I used a big spacer (because i didnt have a shorter bolt) so the bolt from the front side didnt go all the way through into the bell housing because the first thing you will do is lift up and out of the mounts. And if you use the alternator mount on the opposite side as the bell housing, it balances out very nicely. If you put them both on the same side, it will lean.

Get yourself an adjustable bar for the picker. You will most likely need to grab it from a few angles and that thing helps a lot.
