No, you can't use your manifold, it's a PI manifold and the 98 engine is non-PI. You will need a non-PI truck manifold.

Oops, sorry - I read 98 instead of 08. That one is PI.

There may be some sensor differences, but they shouldn't be too hard to work around.

It is not a DIRECT swap. The intake need to be change maybe the oil pan sensors maybe. Maybe some pulleys etc. Thats why there saying it wont swap. When I swaped an 03 5.4 into my 99 5.4 truck the JY kept telling me it wouldnt work. I kept telling them it would I bought the engine and I was right. Intake pullys oil filter relocation stuff. easy. have to remove the intake to get the engine out anyway.

Well, had to change everything except the oil pan, but everything fit just fine, no problems whatsoever. Engine runs great so far (short test drive, need smog test to get it registered.)
Thanks for the replies.

You need a 2001-2003 4.6L intake manifold and gaskets. Well, check the 06 intake to see if the 97 plenum will mount properly. If not it will sell, the 06 from the intake up. Use the 97 plenum with an 01-03 plenum to intake gasket. Keep it 97 from the plenum (body elbow) up. Your not programed to run the 06 TB, so that def won't work. The drive by wire set up.

I have a 97 f150 4x4 has 4.6 windsor blown. Found 4.6 from 94 crown vic that is romeo. If im reading correctly, my truck intake from windsor will work on romeo Correct? What is the differace between the flex plate for a car engine and the truck engine? Do I need to replace this on the new engine that came from a car?

Youll have to use the intake from the doner. So you'll have to adapt you coil pack ignition to fit on the COP intake. So If the doner is a truck you can use it. If not you'll have to find one..
