2010 ford f 150 4x4 v8 flex fule

Ticking sound, is this a problem that needs to be corrected by a mechanic? 135000 miles.
don't have history, just bought it.

It's probably the cam phasers. You shouldn't have bought it if it was ticking. This can be an expensive repair if it gets worse.
