Remote Oil filter leaking!

Today, changed my oil and noticed a wet spot under the drivers side of the motor! Got a flashlite and found those reote oil lines leaking at the metal collar. Looked on this site already and found it to be a known issue, my truck is a 98 with a 4.6! Most of the posts were older, so I'm wondering if anyone has any info on a replacement not from ford?????

I'm fixing it myself, the leak is not too bad right now, but you never know!

Any info out there???

I had the same problem with my 97 about 3 years ago right at this time of the year. I looked into getting aftermarket parts but ended up with the Ford lines as it was just easier (quicker to get). It didn't take long to replace and I didn't have a problem after that. They weren't cheap but for my peace of mind it was worth it.

I've see guys take the thing off and take it to a hose specialty house and have the hoses custom made. might try that and buy the gaskets and o rings..

Glad mine aren't 'dripping' with 207,000 miles on them.... You can tell that they are 'moist' in that the hoses have an oil residue on them, but have never dripped on the garage floor... Even after being parked for over a week in the same place...

Thats not it.. I would take the thing off and head over to the nearest "house of hose" industrial hose supplier. They can make new hoses for it then theres a gasket kit. You can have them make it with better hose then it came with. $492 bucks that thing should NEVER leak.. insane.
Mine is leaking a little bit.. like it sweats a little oil..
