Difference between Ford Service Manual & Workshop Manual

Hi & Thank you in advance.

looking to purchase an OEM repair manual for my 2006 F150/Mark LT- looked at Helm's site and they list 2 different manuals, the Service manual & Workshop manual. The general descriptions appear to be the same with the exception that the Workshop manual has more pictures & illustrations. I would appreciate your thoughts for the "backyard mechanic".

Thanks,

Jeff

I pull info from 4 Ford resources. Service has Workshop, but I have just Workshop Specifically as well. The Workshop alone has some differences.

The more resources the better IMO, comes in handy sometimes. Not sure what to tell you other than that, their all good. The hard covers are to pricey for me, but nice! I resort to Ford Motor DVD's, -since their cheap or if you someone, can be had free.

Workshop manual/service manual = same thing.

ETM/EVTM = wiring diagrams

PC/ED = Powertrain Controls/Emissions Diagnosis.

You need directions for removing the engine from your F150, you want the workshop manual.

You need an electrical diagram for a specific circuit, you want an EVTM.

You need diagnosis information for a DTC P1233, you want the PC/ED.
