Feels like I'm pulling a house

I have a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT. I know a fancy F-150. Anyway a few days ago I started feeling like I was driving around in no better than third, or with the e brake on all the time. Now, I'm not over revving but it just feels like there is no power. Reverse, forward, anything.

I took the truck to the dealer and they said there is nothing wrong because there are no codes showing. I have owned this truck since July '05 and do at least 70 miles per day. I think I should know my own truck.

Any Ford gurus out there have any insight? Are there any mechanics left that can diagnose a problem without a computer??

Help!!!!!!!!!!!

How long since fuel filter changed? Also, could it be the cats stopping up? Check to see if they are getting very hot.

Fuel filter changed less than 10,000 miles. Dealer said if cats were a problem the scanner would let them know.

They told me to drive it til the engine light came on. Oh thanks. So be aggrevated until i get an idiot light.

That is frustrating. Have you noticed any rattle in the exhaust or change in tone?

The only thing I noticed is on the parkway around 75-80 if I let off the gas I get alot of gurgling like back-pressure as if the o/d was off. But I am not over-revving at all. At 75-80 I'm still under 2500 rpm.

Was thinking that maybe the muffler had a baffle collapse, partial blockage.

It won't cost much to do it, you might try cleaning the MAF, just to make sure that is not it.

If it was something with the MAF, wouldn't that throw a code?

Not if it's just getting dirty and not bad enough for a code. It's a long shot, for sure.

what 5.4 does the mark lt have? yea clean the maf, and if that doesnt help then check your injectors and your cats. scanner would let them know of a catalyst efficiency problem, not a clogged cat problem. do you have any kind of aftermarket intake? aftermarket tuner? how many miles?

How many different 5.4's are there?

I have a Volant intake but it's been in there since the truck was new.

I have a jet chip, but I tookm it off. No difference. 51,000 miles.

I have a Vortech exhaust one in, two out. That's the first thing I thought of was cats.

well in that case he has an early 06. 05 had a bad batch of injectors and some of the early 06's are showing up with bad ones here and there. you may have 2 problems. a bad injector and maybe now a clogged/partially clogged cat.

It's a real early 06'. It was built in mid 05' actually.
