2005 4.6 to 3 valve 5.4 questions

Hey,

I've been reading JMC's notes but there's not a whole lot about the swapping a 5.4 into the 04+ rigs...or at least I'm having problems finding it haha. Will the 3v 5.4 bolt up to the 05 4.6 trans like in the earlier models? I know the engine will "bolt in" however, will the harness still plug in and can it run with the 4.6 pcm. I would of course have it tuned. Just need a nudge in the right direction right now as you can probably tell, i'm scattered abit.

You would need a different PCM for the 3v. We do have one member here that did a 2v swap in his 04+. If you are looking for just more power, you might want to look more into forced induction. Less hassle than trying to swap a motor.
