Is SEIC available on 2004-2008 F150's?
 

Does anyone know if SEIC or Stationary Elevated Idle Control is available on the F150? I know there is a wire on the F-Super Duty... but what about the F150?

The reason I ask is because I would like to run it higher when I'm doing extended idling or trying to warm up the truck in the mornings when it's not so nice out. Not to mention, it would be great when I decide to get a high output DC to AC inverter for emergencies.

No, it's not.

It's there on diesel Superduties because diesels lose a lot of heat at idle. The elevated idle helps minimize wet stacking on a diesel, it's not really a concern with a gasoline engine.

The reason I asked was because they do have elevated idle control on the gas F-Series too. Just thought I'd run that by you... here are the instructions for both.

I just thought Ford would've included it on the F150... or else had a mod for it.

Unless someone on here knows where I could tap into a wire that would allow me to run the truck's engine a little higher. I do know that I read some place that you can tap into the truck's electronic throttle body OR the electronic gas pedal, and run a resistor on the line with a switch, this way the truck thinks I'm pushing on the gas pedal, but I'm really not when I flick the switch on.
