$422 for the 15K mile service?

I'm not normally the type to cheap out and complain about routine service, but this seems incredibly excessive.

Oil Change
Alignment (why at 15K miles?)
Fuel Filter
Rotation
some inspections

What do I stand to lose if I take it to an independent mechanic who uses the same motor oil and does all of the above for half the price?

the services are something you can do yourself. those kinds of services are a joke. all they are is check this and that. they dont replace, they just check things. your lucky you actually got a tire rotation. alot of the older guys in my area chalk there tires lf rf lr rr so they know whether the tires were rotated or if the vehicle has even been moved. alot of times its neither.

Normal Oil Change With all the Checks and inspections and Fuel Filter: 35$-40$ Tops.

Alignment: 50-60$

Rotation: 15-25$.

Labor: around 227$ ???

Thats a bunch of crap. You can easily change your oil and even rotate you tires. The alignment seriously doesnt need to be done unless you have done a lot of offroading or if you lifted your truck and messed with the suspension. Your best bet is to at leat change your oil and oil filter and if you dont want to do it yourself pay the 15 bucks to have sears do it.

lol what a ripoff

the oil change and rotation you can do in your driveway in less then an hour, for like 15 bucks for 5-6 quarts of motorcraft 5w20 and a filter.

alignment isnt necessary, you need a special tool to do the fuel filter though. take it to an indepentent mechanic and he'll do it.

Per the satire

From the posted Satire you can see this is a site of enthusiasts and do-it yer-selfers. Yup, you got cornholed and I would recommend some lube next time. Here are some tips:

Places like discount tire and walmart will rotate those tires FREE if you got them there.
And oil and filter change should only be $40 to $50 (for now LOL)
Get the fuel filter done at the same time since it requires a special tool and can be aggravating when working on your back.
That being said, you can now see tde cost of ignorance, no offense, just black and white. Stick around, buy some wrenches and learn a few things while you are here. Your time and money will be better spent.

couldnt have said it better my self. except the walmart part. the walmarts near me forget to tighten the tires and oil drain plug. and sometimes overtighten the drain plugs. but the sears nearby does good.

That being said I would only send someone I really didn't like to get their vehicle served at wal mart. My sons god father lost the motor in his mini van on vacation when he dropped it off at wal-mart for an oil change.
They forgot to put oil back in it and refused to make it right.

Like they don't have enough money to do so......jack holes.
