4.6 DOHC ,OOHHH IT's A TIRE BURNER!!

I just took my recently built 97F150 4.6 DOHC for a maiden test drive, Oh my it felt good ! It definitely has some tire burning potential!! :banana:I can't wait to truely get her on the road!
I'm still wanting to drop on the eaton blower I have, I'm just not quite sure the transmission will hold . I have an extra in my garage, along with transfer case.
I just have to figure out how to get some pic's up on this site.

If you can put a DOHC 4six in a 150 and it actually runs - You should be able to figure out how to make a gallery - Come on , show it off!!

These galleries do suck tho, now anyway. - Yea , Photo Bucket or Picaso2 - Both are purdy good at that online gallery jazz.

Note at the time these pics were taken the throttle cable and cruise cables were still draped over the engine. They ofcourse are now connected.

So, you have a supercharger sitting there?....and a back up trans?.... but you are not sure whether you will go with the blower?....... this is troubling.;)

Very nice, enjoy.

just do it man !!! Will be sweet. Take the "extra" trans and build it up proper, then when the current trans takes a dump, you upgrade to your built one.

SWEET work btw !!
:beers:

WOW, I really Appreciate the support!!!

I guess I will just have to do the blower now??!!!
Let me first tell everyone that this was a $1000. truck when I bought it. It looked like SH-T , it was a business truck used in refinishing amusement parks. Paint overspray was everywhere. It had also exprienced a leaf spring failure sending the spring thru the bed (BIG HOLE). The interior was a total loss and had to be swapped out too. I lowered it on front torsion keys and rear 04 Lightning leafs and 2" drop shackles. I added an Expedition aftermarket 1.5"front & 1.25" rear anti swaybar from my last (Expedition) truck. It took some modification to get the rear bar to work, to say the least!!It still has the stock rear in it, an 8.8 posi(looks shot) 3.55 gears DRUM brake. I plan on ditching it or at minimum changing it to disk and a fresh posi. I actually have a disk setup off a (Expedition, too bad Ford changed the backing plate pattern.

All in all the truck looks good, I painted it with some Ebay bought single stage gunmetal urethane, it has bad orange peel, but it's acceptable to me. I will be using it for both personal and work. It also has some rust issues, which I band-aided. All said, I spent about $3500. to get it looking as it does. that includes the 04 DOHC motor, etc. I don't think I could do much better. With the blower figure $4250 tops.

Keith - real exciting, at least now I have a road map for my project 97 f150. I can not wait for the 5.4 to arrive and start the swap.

Thank you again.

Jim
