Question 2004 5.4L - Are all 04 5.4L 3v

I am replacing a 5.4L 24 valve in a 2004 F150 crew cab (new body style). The Ford dealership said I have a bad #1 cylinder.

I found a low mileage (28,000 mile) replacement in a local salvage yard and I was curious if all 2004 5.4L were 24 valve (or is there also 16 valves in 2004)????

Seems to me...it really should not matter either way, but I was curious if any experts out there could give me some advice on what to look out for when picking out a replacement motor or when I swap them out.

Dealership wanted $6900 plus tax to put in a remanufactured motor......ouch!!!

Thanks

In 2004 Ford had the Heritage model(97-04) which had the 16 valve 5.4 and the current body style(04-08) with the 24 valve 5.4 v8! Your best bet is too purchase a used or new 24 valve 5.4 engine!

Perhaps we're saying the same thing, but it would be a 97-03 -OR- an 04 Heritage.
However, in the original post, he specified new body style. So for this... it's irrelevant.
So...
97-03 (and 04 Heritage) = 2V 5.4L
04-08 = 3V 5.4L

Correct?
