99 F150 Cylinder heads

I found a set of cylinder heads for an 03 lightning. (seller says 5.3l PI heads) And i was wondering if anybody knew if they would fit my 99 5.4l motor. My plugs have been spitting out of my heads is why I need to replace them. Any info would be very helpful....especially somewhere I could get this knowledge from. Thanx....I leave it in the truck Gods hands now!!

Not much difference in the heads/cams maybe , if they come with. Lightnings are 5.4L's as well. I wouldn't trust a seller that list's those as a 5.3L.

What you need to do is timesert your heads. You can do this yourself; it's fairly easy. You need the kit and that can be acquired here -

HI!... The LIGHTNING 5.4 uses the exact same heads and cams as the regular N/A 5.4. If your going to go through the trouble of removing your current heads to install these ones, same your money and just remove your current ones and bring them to a engine builder and have them install time serts in all the plug hole bringing them from 4 spark plug threads up to 8-9 threads. BTW the "99" Lightning heads still only have 4 threaded plug holes like your current heads do. So your not really gaining anything.

Some time in '03 they changed the 2V head design and added more threads. Get a detailed photo from the seller - you might luck out and not need to modify them.
