i just went down to my pick-up and found my fuel door open. its in a parkin lot. is there any way to test if the fuel is bad? the level is the same so it has not been siphoned. so i would like some help to test the fuel and see if someone is messin with me. see if there is sugar, water, **** who knows. im so pissed. i saw stuff in the snow too.

 

I'd drop the tank, and drain it before tryin to crank it, if I were you. Unless you can figure out who it was, and see if they were just joking around...

 

i cant drop the tank here, can i siphon it out, put more in, siphon that, then run it??

 

id find out why it was open, ask everyone there...

 

im freakin out. i am gettin the surveillance footage and everythin. im tryin to get the key from the colonel to go on the Pa system and deliver a message. i dont think i have a crazy x, it is v-day though. theres no way to test the fuel? im gonna try and get a sample then go to the lab.

 

i got this gauge where you can hook it up to a valve near the injectors. theres a button that you can push and it will spit out fuel. i did that and im havein the fuel tested. no luck with the cameras yet.

 

This could be a dumb question... But are you sure that you didn't leave the fuel door open the last time you filled up?? If I had a dollar for every time that I saw a car driving around with the fuel door open...

 

yeah, im sure... im kinda OCD bout my truck. i always check everyting when i park it at school. i check the doors, bed and walk around the truck to see if anythin is outta the ordinary. it pisses my buddies off but makes me feel better

 

I'd just start the engine and see what happens. If somebody put sugar in the tank thinking they would screw up the engine- they were wrong. Sugar does nothing to an engine except plug the fuel filter as it won't dissolve in gas. If they put water in it, you'll know within 2 minutes of startup as the water will be the first thing the engine sees. Water will be on the bottom of the tank. Probablities are nothing is in the tank. If somebody did **** in the tank, it will run rough for awhile and you can put a can of Siloo or similiar water absorbing alcohol in the tank to make it run thru the engine. Rarely will you have to pull a gas tank when somebody thinks they are screwing your engine up.

 

i took the sample, it looked like a lil bit of water...so i added some isoheet, and ran it. the little 4.6 smoked a lil, them i put in some high test and it seemed to do fine the motor never missed a beat. i think i got a lead...so ill let you know if i find out who and how i handle it.

 

I guess you'll be buying a locking gas cap next, nice to know your engine is OK.

Last year somebody took my oem chrome and black 1965 gas cap off my Falcon and I'm still pi$$ed about it. It's not like you can buy one at any parts store. Crap like that makes me want to spend the night in my vehicle's with my S&W 500 to keep me warm.

 

i dont have a s&w 500...but i have spent the night with the sig sauer...i do like it. im buying the gas cap tomorrow. and spend the night with my rig...oh well i dont mind

 

Was your fuel level down after like somebody siphoned some? Or was some dumbass just messing with you? Either way, I would probably freak out too.

 

atleast they were nice enough to leave the door open to give you heads up that something was different

 

well i found out who did it. not quite sure what i am going to do about it. i am going to buy a locking gas cap now. he tried to get beer in there. pity him. its so much easier to have a girl find out who did it.
