engine turning over but no fire....?
has happened twice now, 2003 screw, ford couldn't retreive any codes, but thought that it may be the oil pressure sensor failing, preventing engine from firing. any thoughts before i buy a $45 sensor? battery and alternator check out, btw.

forgot to mention it eventually started both times, once after being pulled a half mile to the dealership. odometer would display dashes, anti theft light blinked rapidly, then it didn't and it started!

I'm pretty sure you have a PATS problem . Hang on I'll try to locate the thread. This was discussed earlier last week ..
Her yuh go - https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...t+PATS+problem Just use the search bar - comes in handy .. ( : |
okay, i'll call the dealership in the morning and give them something to think about with this PATS proble. thanks for the info. also, is there possibly some connection between cold weather and this problem? seems to be cold when it has not started.

Pay attention to which way the key is oriented (up or down) as that sometimes makes a difference on a dying key. The crank and no start with a flashing THEFT light and ODO is a classic sign of a PATS issue.
|
can i use my spare key if my main key is dying, and could this solve my problem or would i likely have to go to the dealership to find out if something else is wrong with the PATS?
|
You haven't tried it yet?
|
am going to try it this morning, the old key was working last night
