Help Please!!!

today i went through about a 1.5 foot deep puddle and drove for about 300 yards and my truck died. whenever i try to turnover the motor black smoke comes out of the exhaust. i need to fix the truck because its way out in the boonies and i cannot tow it out. i had to ditch it

from what i have heard it can be these things bad fuses, co2 exhaust sensor bad, water in sparkplugs? these are just things that people have been telling me. how do i figure it out?

It wouldn't just quit like that if it was the plugs or 02 sensors.

If theres no strange lights on in the instrument cluster - it's prolly just a fuse.

Check all fuse blocks.

It sure can quit if you get the ignition wet. I would take your plug wires off and see if there is a bunch of water in your plug holes there.

Did you hit the puddle hard?
