ud pulley install
im installing troyer pulleys after school today. when i remove the crank pulley, will i have to find a way to keep it from turning if i am using a torque wrench? well probably the ratchet to get it to fit in there. ive read that you have to when doing it with hand tools, but it didnt say anything about it in the directions that came with the pulleys and using a torque wrench.

Why are you using a torque wrench to remove it? Do you mean an air wrench/impact gun?
i meant for the bolt in the middle and then a puller to take it off. yeah i meant an air wrench.
Leave the belt on and hit it with the air wrench and it should come off fine. I did it with hand tools and had to stick a ratchet in I think the AC pulley to stop it from turning. Do you have a grinder, dremel or cut off wheel? You may need it to make the water pump pulley fit.

i have a cheap die grinder but i thought i read that problem was with the 04 and up. i have a 97. what would need to be grinded down?
disregard then. I have an 04 and was going off of my experience. Once you get the fan and the crank pulley off the rest should be cake, especially with the air wrench.
Does that grind for the 04+ apply to the 4.6l's too?
