high mileage 4.6l

I've got 190k miles on my truck right now and while its running great I want to get as much out of it as possible, I'm getting ready to replace the struts and trying to figure out what else needs to be done on it to keep running strong. Plugs/coils, belt, brake pads/rotors, fuel/air/trans filters, pcv, O2, were put in 20k mi ago by myself.

Looking further down the road once the engine poops out, I'm wondering if its possible to swap up to a 5.4l and an lsd instead of my open diff.

What else are ofter failure points of the '06s, Thanks I know its a bunch of questions but this is my only mode of transportation.

Swapping in a ford traction lock is fairly simple. I did it to my truck and yours is probably an 8.8 so it should be easier really. 190k is just broke in!

Does it go in like any other lsd? Also I was thinking of doing 4.10 gears since I have 33s on is that correct or is that too much for a 4.6l? Still learning about it all.

I dont think there much of a difference really. Same process no mater.

Not only aren't 4.10's too much for a 4.6, 4.56's would be even better. With a 2wd, you have a 4.30 option. The 4.6 needs all the help it can get. You will need a programmer to recalibrate the speedo/odo, in fact, you should be using one now with those 33's.

Currently running a flashpaq to correct the speedo.

Ran into an interesting problem that worries me, the tires aren't rubbing on any of the body work (its tight though) but the front left is impacting on one of the brake lines. I caught it fast enough to prevent serious damage and have it safety wired out of the way but I want to find a more permanent solution, however, I do plan on putting 4wd bilsteins on as well as a rear riser to keep it leveled so I'm not sure if that will fix the current rubbing.

Yea, assuming it's takin care of, the 4.6 Mod motors last. So you may be waiting a while... I have a '94 T'bird with the 4.6 in her. In 2002, I bought it from the original owners son. His uncle was a ASE tech at a Ford dealer. It had 149,000 miles on her then. At the moment, I'm estimating it has about 200,000 miles on her. The odo. quit at about 177,000. It doesn't smoke, tap or whine. I love that car...
