coolant temperature sensor

It doesn't have one. It uses the CHT (cylinder head temp sensor) for engine management & the gauge.
The CHT is screwed into the front inboard surface of the L head, behind the alternator under the thermostat. |
coolant sensor
thanks for the email.i had the truck on diagnostics today and the coolant reading went from 40 c to 198 c and then back down to 80 c and then up to over 200 c.so im wondering if the temperature sensor is faulty.thanks daren

I didn't e-mail you.
Even a bad sensor can't do that. That could only be caused by an intermittent connection somewhere in the circuit. Is the gauge bouncing? |
sorry

I'd test the ACT & CHT with a multimeter, and check for exhaust leaks.
