intake manifold

i have a 2001 5.4l super crew, ive been looking for aftermarket intake manifolds or cylinder heads but have found nothing. i want to add HP without adding a supercharger, i have KN CAI, throtle bodie spacer, edelbroch throtle bodie, and pacesetter shorty headers. is there anything else out there?

ditch the throttle body spacer, get a ported/polished plenum. Get or P&P your actual intake manifold. Get a tuner. and get Long Tube headers....

get some stage 3 heads and a good set of cams, long tube headers, 23# or 36# injectors with an 80 or 90 mm MAF and a good tune and you'll be screaming compared to what it does now.

ditch the shortie headers and the throttle body spacer ASAP

The PCM program is the major reason these engines don't run as you think they could.
Ford has retarded the performance in a number of ways and attempting to meet emmissions law and increase the longevity, as a competitive and sales factor .
Besides the truck weight 5500 +.
A 4.6 L motor is only 281 cu/in. Smaller than a 1968 Mustang motor.
The company does these things for their benifit, not yours.
Example: 4r70w trans. It has a low first gear and a high OD gearing. It is to make up for the weight and the low torque of the motors from as far back as the 93 Lincoln Mark series cars that began using these Mod motors.
This motor design is already 14 years old. Once the commitmant is made and some combinations are not the best serving, you are stuck with it untl major changes occurr.
Are you beginning to see the points?

1991 town car and crown victoria had the first 4.6 modular

I recently swapped my plastic intake manifold for a 99 aluminum one. I ported it and I feel a noticeable increase of low end torque and feels a bit faster. I also swapped out the stock coils for accel coils. So far I have the intake, a K/N cold air intake, and coils as modifications. I also have been getting 20 mpg with highway driving now. :rocker:
