Another P1074 case eventually P1071 too. but it's not the elbow

I've been trying to track this problem down for about a year. From searching on this board I've checked all the usual. elbow in back of intake, pcv valve, cleaned maf, sprayed flammable cleaner around, anything I missed? I love boards like this, very helpful if you know what to and how to search.

After doing all this, I still get the code. I didn't replace any hoses or ends as they seem very flexible and I couldn't find any visible holes in the ones I had off. I have a laptop logger that can pull all kinds of values and codes, reset CEL/MIL etc. The only thing that I notice odd is... it don't take much throttle for the short trims to go full max at 25%. Other than that I hooked up a vaccuum hand pump to the line that goes to the evap and can't build a vaccum. Do I need to tee into it or can I just hook the end up to the pump (which is what I did) There was air leaking from somewhere as I could hear it. Not a hissing air... more like a valve that couldn't stay closed...think fart like:o .. hard to explain noises through words.

I got my automotive stethoscope and tracked it down to a part that looks like the one in the pic attached that I've colored (badly I might add) red. What is this part and should it act this way? I'm pretty sure it shouldn't. I can here the same noise immediately after turning the truck off.

Condition that light comes on is usually moderate acceleration/load. I can reset the light and as long as it's cold out it stays off (didn't have any trouble with it all winter) even when hauling a load of green wood for my outdoor burner. As soon as it warms up enough outside and my wife's foot is heavy enough;) the light comes on. If I stay out of the throttle as much as possible I can usually keep the light off for as long as I like.

Guess I can do attachments. Anyway The part I'm refering to has a black plastic top and beside the throttle body. It'd be toward the driver's side of the throttle body and slight toward the front of the truck. no more than 8" in either direction. Anybody have any engine pics to help explain.

Figured out how to link to an image. this should help. https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=9911

Yeah that's called the EVR - mines been doing that for a couple years ..

It doesn't hurt anything , you can replace if it bothers you..

Good Luck

I was wondering if this would be the souce of a vaccum leak causing my lean codes?
