Lincoln locker, lol. I'd rather drive the open diff. Wheelspin is better than hopping through every turn...

Finally..............

Well there are updated pics. As you can see its not at home . I drove it to work today. That was smiles all the way. Hit the highway on ramp and didnt even tromp on it and i was doing 160kph well before the end of it. Kinda scarry given the state of the tires . I havent superchiped it yet either. Gonna run some fuel cleaner through it and then go to 91oct and put the performace tune on. The only things that dont and probly never will work are the speedo and the odo. I use my dash mounted navigation system for speedo and odo. It by fluke has a "gage" mode and gives what i am missing and accurate as it does not care about tires or gears. Might have a decent service call tomorrow to track fuel just for those that care.

Thanks all for following along. Will still update when i have anything new. Will probly be at shannonvill aug 11th they have a test and tune that evening. Open diff suck but since i drive it around town and tow a big a$$ trailer i dont want a lincoln locker. Thought about it though. Just to keep interest if the $$$ works next year it will get a vortech v2 supercharger.

oops forgot shannonville is a local dragstrip for me. Darn internet always forget that.

great job I hope you did a write up so others can learn from your trial and errors, can't wait to hear a MPG and 1/4 reports.

the 6.8 is a good engine I bet you'll see some decent 1/4 mile times if you can keep the wheels from slipping too much

report

just to update on how it is. Running stong and MUCH more power once i crafted a cai. Now it will break'em loose if i do much more the gently apply the throttle. Mileage seems too good. I am getting way more with the v10 than my 5.4 driving the v10 harder as its hard not too. I am looking at roughly 600kms to 85ish lt of fuel. Seem to good to be true and thats the stock pcm tune. I havent put my superchips to yet. I may hold off and get a troyer unit as you all seem to recomend them and the price isnt too bad. It get some attention driving. Oh yeah it will smoke a new HEMI

That's 16.7 miles per gallon - I've never heard of a V10 doing that well - what rear and trans do you have in there?

Its the stock v10 trans i got with it 4r100. I am using the stock diff with the 3.73s. First drive in the rain today. Fun passing when she kicks down and you go by sliding sidways. Its such an easy load the cruse gets messed up by it. It goes to resume speed and passes it briefly. Kinda funny.

I was thinking that aswell. I have a 1850 bus code error code refering the hyb inst cluster. I suspect it may be the anti theft in the f150 cluster that the f350 of course does not have. I was thinking of try a 2000 excursion pcm but my one mech friend at the dealer wants me to bring it by so they can flash the intrument cluster. They seem to think that will fix it. They are waiting for the service manger to take holidays . Not a big deal my laptop hooked up show me the speed from the pcm no problem. I have the f350 cluster but way differnet wiring way different. Too bad it has trans temp in it. I may try the f350 cluster just to have everything "right". Minor details though. I have put over a 1000kms on it this week and no problems.
