I need help! 92 300 I6 Ignition system.

I was on the highway using cruse control. And my truck shut off like someone flipped a switch. I'm not getting any spark at the coil. My Haynes manual is pointing towards the PCM. I swapped the ICM, PIP sensor, and coil. And got nothing. Any ideas before I drop $200 on a PCM.

I think you can pull the PCM and get it checked beforew you buy one.

If you follow the Haynes ignition diagnostic procedure in Ch.5 Sec.5 on p.5-5, it will lead you to the cause. But follow it precisely. If anything is out of spec by even 0.01, it's bad. Every time you replace a part, you should start over from the beginning.

But there were some recalls on the 4.9L EEC, so call the dealership with your VIN & see if your truck is still open for any of them. If so, you'll get a totally free EEC, including installation.
