romeo vs windsor heads

What is the difference in the romeo heads vs the windsor heads? Anything besides valve covers and bearing caps?

this is all I can find for you, but you probably already knew,
from haynes manual:
"The 4.6L REP has 11 bolts on the left valve cover, while the WEP 4.6L has 13 bolts on the left valve cover and the 5.4L has 14 bolts."
Like I said I'm sure you knew this, but for others who may read this post and don't know as much thats some good base info

The cams on the Romeo heads are bolted on and they are pressed on with the Windsor heads.

JMC, You mean the cam timing gear right? The actual cam bearing caps are seperate on each bearing on the Windsor and they are two seperate pieces per cyl head on the Romeo which was designed for assembly only.

It is really beyond me why ford did this. The cranks are different too. One has 6 bolts for the flywheel, the other has 8. Seems to me this is an expensive way to build engines.
