Cool 05' F-150 STX to a 2008 F350 FX4!!!

So as some of you may recall I posted about my 05' F150 STX and how I was sick of it and I needed a bigger more badass truck for work and play. Well I was going to buy a 2008 F150 FX4 BUT!!! I started thinking, I need a F350 or F450 for work, and I wanted more power to play with too (FX4). So I did a little research and I came up with a solution! 2008 F350 FX4, 6.4L V8 Turbo Deseil. 350 HP and 650 ft LBS of torque! I was a little reluctant since I wasnt to fond of the way the truck was styled. But the interior was amazing and the body style grew on me. Now 2 months later I just ordered the truck Monday. I got it pretty much fully loaded but without leather seats, sat. radio, GPS, heated seats, ya know the **** that a 20 year old doesnt need. I got it in Silver, with a manual trans. and the off road package. $43,750 invoice, $48,150 out the door with tax! I have a freind who works at Ford so I got it at a really good price. Bad part is I have to wait 2 months for the truck. I think it will be well worth it! At least it gives me 2 months to sell my truck. Ill post pics as soon as I get the truck. Should be before July.

congrats... how does a 20 yr old afford that???? Man.. at 20 I bought a 1982 Mustang GT new for $7300 and it about killed me financially...But then I was in the Air Force then... What cab configuration did you get.. regular, supercab, or crew cab? Nice truck.. hope the diesel doesn't have the problems the early 6.0's had.....

Not too hard. I just don't buy all the useless crap that my friends do.

Congrats on the buy. Check in down in the superduty section, and join up over on www.thedieselgarage.com to check out the 6.4L section.

Cool

I bought the crew cab 6 3/4' bed. I thought the 8 foot bed would be too hard to drive towing a 16ft trailer. Ohh and I can afford this truck because I own a landscaping company.

I Forgot about this thread. Well just so everyone knows I didnt buy the 2008 F350, But I did buy a 2002 F350 ext cab dump truck for my business. I thought the dump would be more worth it. And I get to keep my STX and keep throwing mods on it!

You using the dump to do your towing? I assume it has the 7.3 diesel? If so, EXCELLENT choice.

I wasn't aware that you could "order" a brand-new truck only to tell the dealership "no thanks... i'll take this here 6-yr older used truck with the dump that costs significantly less"...

With the backorder situation on diesel Super Dutys, I assume the dealer had NO problem selling it when it came in.

1) yes its a 7.3L but it has 95,000 miles on it. But I got a good deal and it hauls a lot of sh*t!

2) My buddy works for Ford and he said there was a truck being built in Milwalkie and he "put my name on it" I didnt actually put any money down all he did was put in a word and they were next to receive it at their dealership.

3) good luck with getting a 2008 Super duty. They are the best work truck on the market right now and EVERYONE wants them. And Big companies such as V3 or Dhal will get their fleet trucks before little old me. So I said screw it.

But im glad I didnt get it cuz I wouldnt have a dump bed if I did. NO MORE SHOVELING GRASS OUT OF MY BED AT THE DUMP ANYMORE! Just press a button!

My old man got one, a Lariat 350 dually blah blah blah, yup nav system too. That new engine hauls asses and then lots more. It has the auto so shifting is lamo and consumer friendly, my brother and I have convinced him another 100-150 hp's is easy to come by. Awesome truck, but for the business, a dump was the better choice.
