Thanks for reply, are we safe from oil sludge though we are doing regular oil and filter change, of course with good quality oil and filter. Just being aware with this sludge lately.

If what you call "sludge" is milky white crap under the oil cap, this is normal in a vehicle that's only driven on short trips and isn't fully warmed up. Just keep your oil changed using oil and filters that meet specs at recommended intervals and try to take the vehicle out on the freeway periodically for a 20 mile or so run.

Ive actually read good things about Auto-RX. Here's a link to a forum that deals with additives, oils, etc etc. Some very knowledgable members on the board.

Auto-Rx is a lanolin ester and works by slowly (keyword here is slowly) loosening sludge, dirt, and junk from the engine and letting the filter accumulate it. I use it. Just did my Bronco with it and it is in the rinse phase now. It will turn the oil to crap in 2000 miles and I wouldn't suggest running it past that. I would recommend it for any engine that has over 100,000 miles on the clock regardless of the maintenance or the oil used. It will also stop minor oil leaks as it reconditions the seals. A maintenance dose is good insurance at 2 oz per 5 qts at each oil change.

I am on the first rinse phase on my sons 4 banger Dakota P/U truck with almost 120k. I still have a second cycle to do. It seems to have picked up a little pep..

I think it is good stuff. I have only heard all good about it...Haven't heard of one incident of damage to any engine. I recommend it only if the directions are followed. It sure is something to think about if you buy a used vehicle and don't know how it was taken care of....
