Superchip 1100

Hey guys, I was looking into this chip for my truck, but it says 91 or better octane gasoline is required for use? What is up with that? I don't want to have to use better gas, is this just for "optimal performance" or is it really a requirment to use 91 octane to run a vehicle on that chip??

Thank you

I'm not familiar w/ this chip but running lower octane then required can lead to pinging, knocking, and detonation(not cool)You also may not see a performance increase

And that would only occur with the chip mod correct? I run 87 now and it has no issues, never has with 87.

Thanks!

correct, your truck is designed for 87 and that chip increases fuel requirements and timing as well as other things.I still recomend the Edge programer or Xcal2
