broke a plastic air hose insulated in foam

hey guys, new here.

i was working on replacing the plugs and coil packs in my 99' e250 with the 5.4l, and i broke a plastic hose that goes from the intake manifold to the passenger side valve cover. what is this hose called? its wrapped with foam, and doesn't look like it carries anything except air.

i looked, but is there a place where i can look at diagrams to find out what things are? thanks

The PVC hose - it runs from the pvc to the back of the manifold

I would fix it with a piece of rubber hose, but you can try auto- zone ..

Don't waste your time with Autozone, unless you are just going to use hose to replace the PCV line.

I checked with them when I broke mine and they don't carry and can't get it.

Also the reason the tube has foam insullation on it is to keep water vapor from freezing. This was a recall item on the '97, something about the throttle sticking wide open as I recall.

Although I did notice that white milky crap feeding into my intake at one point from that line - but that's when it was idleing allot and I kept pulling it in a warm shop from the cold for about a week..So.... That's why that happened I think..

Condensation from running it at idle for long periods of time - from cold to warm climants - like you would get with short trips in the winter. Didn't hurt it..
