farting noise

here is the problem... I am driving along when all of a sudden my truck starts to make a "farting noise" from the right side of the engine bay. it almost sounds like the inner fender liner has dropped and was rubbing on the tire. it wasn't. I thought it was a bad speaker. nope. any ideas?

Maybe a "tricked-out" Honda Civic got wedged under your right-front fender area???

poor trixman, he has a serious question and guys are jerking around with him

Do you think it could be just really bad tire noise? when does it make this sound, at what speed, what engine coniditions, what throttle position? We might be able to help more with this info.

If it were misfires, your enigne light should come on immediately, I have turned off a bunch of people's who pressure wash their trucks and get water all in everything down there, it's always a misfire and a code.

usually if its severe enough the CEL / SES light should atleast come on.
i believe a severe misfire is a flashing light

you may have the same problem i had for 2 years unknowingly...
no or bad light in the instrument cluster for the CEL light.

trixman, do you feel any vibrating lololol ... No no, I 'm really serious. If it's just a sound without vibration, I think it may be air related lololol.. I'm serious - The PCV can make noise during a certain RPM and Load (lolol) on the engine .

Seriously , try replacing the PCV valve it's only 5 bucks(get a Motorcraft replacement - there the best) and look for vac leaks haha as well .

Check this hose stemming from your PCV valve that routes behind your motor and plugs into the manifold , the 90 especially , back by the firewall -

Also try running your engine with the hood open , then shut it down and look under the hood quickly and listen for a strange noise - the motor will exspell a little air trapped in the EGR system - usually thru the EVR and sometimes that makes noises at certain pressures, this will vibrate - if you put you hand on it imediatly after shuting down you may feel it doing so..

The EVR -
