2000 F150 rattling sound coming from engine compartment

I've got a 2000 F150 Supercab 2WD, Automatic with the 4.6. I've got some kind of rattling noise on acceleration. It's throwing an EGR code and some kind of coolant code that I've never heard of. I doubt it's the EGR causing this rattling sound. It sounds almost like a catalytic converter going bad. I've also got some anoying ticking sound under the hood that I suspect might be the PCV valve. Anybody got any suggestions? The truck runs and idles fine, so I don't think it's valves or anything, but I'm not sure. Thanks for the help. -Al Nobles
