Your F-150 came with the non-HO version of the 5.0. The engine layout and distributor rotation for your engine is correct on the diagrams in Steve83's post, but the firing order depicted is for the HO engine. Your firing order is: 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8.
That would be correct.
FYI, his engine block is the HO block, but it didn't get the roller cam installed until the next year, which is when the firing order changed.
