Exclamation Trade my truck in?

I have a Black 2005 F150 STX. I've been through a lot with my truck and im really sick of it! I have about 22,000 miles on it. I used my truck as a work truck for 2 years in landscaping... Not smart because I scratched it and its noticible because its black, and I trashed the interior. Its only a 4.6, I dont have power windows, or locks, small mirrors, XL interior and guage cluster. Not much to look at. I have a leveling kit, dual exhaust, AEM Brute force, XLT air vents, westin side steps, subs and stereo, and a Harley Grille. Im sick of trying to make my truck the way I shouldve bought it! I dont like the exhaust, its a sluggish motor, the trans has bad towing power, and its only 2WD. I can go on and on. I also recently bought a 2002 F350 for work so I dont need to use my truck for work anymore. So my question is- Should I sell my truck and (A) buy a new 2007 Silver F150 FX4 quad cab and jack it up, (but I would rarely use it for off road) (B) buy a 2007 Graphite grey F150 FX4 regular cab, put air ride on it, throw black 22's on it with yellow painted brakes, and put the Roush kit on it (Supercharger, exhaust, intake, Roush hood, ect.) or (C) keep my truck and keep adding aftermarket stuff 2 it. I feel like im wasting my money pouring it into my truck I have right now. I still have about 5 grand left to pay on my truck right now. I dont know what to do so any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Quad cab is a Dodge word, S-U-P-E-R-C-R-E-W

Anyways...If you think youre wasting money by putting aftermarket stuff on your current truck, how are you gonna feel when you spend thousands more to lift a new one, and not use it for offroadin? So I would Scratch that idea right there. Next...I think air-bagged trucks are the goofiest things in the world, However; to each his own. If that's what you like, go for it. Im assuming if you get a new one you'll get a 5.4 right? Thats +1.

I agree with you about your current truck as far as interior and stuff goes. My friend has your same truck, but '06, and it is plain-jane. Doesn't even have a tach. I have the 4.6 in my truck and I don't feel it being sluggish at all, maybe you need a re-flash?

I wouldnt drop another dime into a truck you dont want. I think you should look at the 07 HD screw and call it a day.

I'd agree I think you're wasting your money putting anything into an STX.

I just traded in my 2005 FX4 Super Crew on a 2007 FX4 Super Crew with Luxury Package. Other than upgrading the audio system, it's pretty much perfect as is. I have no idea what Ford did (if anything), but this new FX4 really gets up and goes compared to my (identical) 2005 FX4.

Either way sounds arrrrite to me........ Do the 4x4 with the lift first, then in three years when your tired of it, do the air-ride on the 2x4. It's only money...

Why bother with 4x4 if you don't use it?

i would say sell the truck yourself , you dont seem to be in a time crunch.if it dont sell then trade it in. my opinion on buying a new vehicle...get EXACTLY what you want the payment from stripped to equipped wont be that much every month and you will not resent the fact you got it in the first place, so get what You want..i likem bagged and lifted too. most guys are one or the other

Thanks guys

Thanks for the advice. Im really leaning towards the regular cab FX4 but im a little worried about if I want more room in the future which a super crew FX4 would be nice. Im just gonna have 2 ponder it a little.

I say go for the room since you never know if your going to need it. I got a reg cab and sometimes wish I had gotten a supercab but for the most part the regcab fits my needs and don't regret getting it.

I say if you hate it now, you'll hate it later, especially after it soaks up even more coin. As for cab, I have the supercab, and wouldn't go back to a regular cab if you paid me, unless it was a dedicated off-road toy.

My $.02
